Roy Kim Design is a multifaceted design consultancy, offering services in:
-real estate design strategy and management
Roy has been fortunate to craft a career that combines his love of design with his interests in real estate, marketing, and business development. He has helped shape the skylines of New York, Miami and LA, advising on projects as varied as One57, 432 Park, Park Grove, 108 Leonard, and the West Hollywood Edition.
Roy is from Vancouver, Canada, where he obtained his M.Arch. He interned for Zaha Hadid, then upon graduation, worked on the Seattle Public Library by OMA/LMN Architects. His time at the Sunshine Group enabled him to craft a career combining design and real estate. As the SVP of Design at Extell Development, he shifted the focus of the firm toward world class architecture and design, collaborating with the best names in the industry, such as Yabupushelberg, Katherine Newman, Roman and Williams, Herzog and de Meuron, and Meyer Davis, amongst others. He then moved to the brokerage side at Douglas Elliman, where he advised developers in New York, South Florida and California. His expertise is in the development of innovative residential projects.
Having been immersed in the worlds of development, design and suppliers/vendors, he now advises these three groups and acts as a connector between them. He also designs interior projects, which is the foundation of his other skills and services.
Roy has decades of experience in residential design.
He believes that good design is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound. A home should be rooted in its site, and accommodate the particular lifestyle of the occupants.
